John is a great fan of all motor-sports, and races his Chev Camaro in the Super GT championship. Although JR won the 2004/05 Super GT class 4 champs, the Camaro continues to require development to remain competitive.

After ten years in speedway driving both modifieds and sprintcars, JR's first forray off the dirt was in the A9X Torana in Classic racing which was raced all over New Zealand with great success.

Not to be outdone, Diane, Johns better half, owns a beautiful example of a 1955 Chev Belaire. The car is something Diane has always wanted and as such she now has her own classic car.

Johns love of his cars and his province sees him being the Event Director of AmeriCARna, an americian car festival being held in New Plymouth from 22 to 25 February 2007, and yearly thereafter.
